About The Kaissa Chess Club
The Kaissa Chess Club has been meeting since 1997, and our attendance has grown steadily since that time.
We now meet at two different locations on two separate evenings. All meetings are free and open to the public.
All you need to do is show up, bring your equipment and have fun! All ages and levels of play are encouraged
to attend.
Casual/Unrated Game Play
Thursday evenings from 5:30pm to 9:00pm at the
Bon Air Library at 9103 Rattlesnake Rd, Richmond, VA. The library can be reached at (804) 320-2461 .
Members also meet on Thursday evenings from 5:30, at the Willow Lawn Mall for strickly casual games. Bring your own equipment.
Rated Game Play
We meet for Rated game play on Thursday evenings from 5:30pm to 9:00pm. As of June 15, 2006,
we will be meeting at the
Bon Air Library at 9103 Rattlesnake Rd, Richmond, VA. The library can be reached at (804) 320-2461 .
Rated game play information:
- You must be a member of the United States Chess Federation
to play a rated game. You can become a United States Chess Federation member at our meetings with the applications we can provide.
- You will need to sign up for your rated game play by 6:00pm.
- Games begin at 6:15pm
- Time control for ladder play is G/70 or G/65 with a 5 second delay.
- There is no cost for rated game play, but we welcome donations to cover our game recording fees..
Non-USCF members and players who are looking for casual games are welcome to attend our Thursday meeting as well,
but please be mindful of the other players who are playing rated games under time pressure conditions.
